  • Tena koe e taku Karani Pa, My name is William, namesake of my Uncle Bill Hohaia. I am the 6th sibling of 8 children from the marriage of your daughter Kiritiana Waireta and Tarzan Paraone Hori. Much appreciation to Tania for unraveling the mystery of who you are. My mother Violet as she was known lived her life with humility and grace, who had a quiet and unassuming manner but when prompted spoke with authority. Her spiritual beliefs and dedication to her God filled her with an inner peace that touched all who knew her and whose rangimarie presence remains with me still. You can indeed be proud of her. We have always commemorated ANZAC day and now even more special since learning of your service during WW 1. My whanau will no longer be lost to you but will uplift you in our thoughts from this ANZAC day forward. Arohanui.

You would of been proud of of my dad, papa, he was an awesome and loving dad and if you were like my dad I still cry for him. I am stunned and in awe that you are finally in my life. I cried when Tania told me she had found you but these tears are for me and my dad, who you never knew and went to his grave not knowing you. I will make sure papa that my children will remember you. Love forever.
