  • My Grandfather was called 'Shorty' to everyone. He would go bush for weeks at a time to catch possums and then pick us all up in his van and take us up to the farm. He was a writer, of poems and stories that are published. "The Infinite Family" refers to the many children he and my Grandmother took into their homes. "Long Acre Station" the story of Lofty and Shorty and "Relativity Scope" story of a telepathic woman. Some of the fondest memories I have are of the times spent in their company and the company of the variety of people up on the farm. Long will he be remembered with love and respect, not just for the service he did to our country but for the Grandfather he was.
