    Annie was working at St Helen's Hospital in Auckland at the time of enlistment and her parent's address is recorded as her New Zealand address

    Gazetted Sister in the NZANS from 5 January 1942

    She served at Waiouru before going overseas to 4NZ General Hospital in New Caledonia.

    Auckland War Memorial Museum collections on display: uniform, medals, identification tag, and paybook are exhibited in the 'War in the Pacific' exhibit of the 'Scars on the Heart' gallery

    From there she was posted to 3NZ General Hospital in Italy.

    Further information relating to Ann Johnson's overseas service during World War II in the Auckland War Memorial Museum Library includes photographs, postcards and ephemera from the Pacific, Middle East and Italy. AWMM
