  • McDonald was present with the baggage-guard from Middle Bosch in February 1900. He joined the Orange River Colony Provisional Mounted Police, Regimental No. 63 in Bloemfontein, May 1900, under Major Lorimer. (Stowers, p.153)

    Returned to New Zealand on the S.S. 'Orient'.

    McDonald also served in World War One, Regimental No.13/107.

    He died after a bicycle accident. AWMM
