  • Cecil Crowe was the son of Alexander and Sarah Ellen Crowe. Native of England.

    "Sergt. Crowe, 8th Regt., Cant. M.R., died on August 9th of wounds received in the Romani fight in Egypt. One of his sisters, Mrs. Ruthven, has for some considerable time given her services at the Walton Hospital, having charge of the entertainment of the men there. All those towards whose comfort and welfare Mrs. Ruthven has contributed extend their sympathies and condolences in her loss." (Chronicles of the N.Z.E.F., September 15, 1916 p. 32) AWMM

  • C H Crowe is on Ingatestone & Fryerning War memorial (unveiled in 2006) and has his own memorial in Ingatestone Church. I am studying the WW1 deaths in our villages and will be looking at C H Crowe in 2016.
