  • Husband of Louie nee Brackstone, they married in Bombay, India in 1900.

    He served for 21 years with the Norfolk Regiment starting in England from November 1892 - November 1894; then in India November 1894 - January 1905; South Africa 1905 - 1909 and returned to England 1909 - 1913.

    Accepted for the New Zealand Permanent Service in 1914. Returned to the Permanent Service after the war but retired in ill health in 1920.

    Commenced return to New Zealand on board HT R'uahine', 17 November 1915.
    Resumed appointment to NZPS; discharged 28 February 1920.
    Total service: 5 years 5 months (of which 1 year 82 days was on active service).
