    On his first Beaufighter mission against German planes attacking a convoy in the English Channel he downed two Dornier 217 aircraft and damaged another , earning him the Distinguished Flying Cross

    Died after his tractor rolled on him on his farm near Urenui in Taranaki. AWMM
