    Report
  • I am the great niece of Kenneth Abbot who went to WW1 along with his brother Robert Abbot. Robert Abbot survived the war but went to live in South Africa so I never met either of them. I have early childhood memories of my father Athol Abbot taking me to see the Roll of Honour in the museum with my Uncles name at the top. As a child I had no understanding of the horror these men faced and what it must have done to their own lives even if they survived. It is a wonderful tribute to them that 100 years later we can all share in remembering their lives.
