  • Norris Fraser left New Zealand for the first time with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Later he attended officer training at Cambridge University, then came back to New Zealand to take charge of a future New Zealand Reinforcement. In his case this was the 35 Reinforcements, D Company with the rank of 2nd Lt. The 35 Reinforcements left on "Tofua" (ship) on 8 April 1918 bound for Suez, Egypt. AWMM
