Photo taken on the Parliamentary Library steps of the third contingent of 69 passenger nurses and 13 NZHS Maheno Nurses led by Matron Evelyn Brooke seated centre front row. Nurses identified are: 1st Row: --,--,--, H. Burton, L. Brandon, E. Brooke, L. McNie, I. Willis, M. Muir, --,--. 2nd row, M. Looney, --, M. Rogers*, M. Brown* M. Jeffrey, J. Erwin, --, R. (D?) Horton, --,--, I. Clark*,--, 3rd row, A. Whitta, 7th M. Ellis, 8th J. James, --, A. Philpotts. 4th row, Right end M. Beswick (V neck white blouse), C. Hawkins, to right of nurse with large white collar. 5th row Edmondstone behind C. Hawkin's left shoulder. Nurses lost when the Marquette was torpedoed are noted with an aterisk and otehrs not identified but part of this contingent are, N. M. Hildyard, H. Isdell, M. Jamieson, M. Rae and L. Rattray.
