  • The Auckland Museum Library's manuscripts collection contains a letter (MS 2005/7) written by Major Stitt, Officer Commanding, 1st Battalion, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, dated 29 October 1918, to Mrs Deborah Hollett, informing her that her son was taken prisoner on 29 September 1918 and that they are awaiting official confirmation of this from Germany.
