    Robert Seal first enlisted as a territorial with the Waikato Mounted Rifles, 1930's.

    He then enlisted with the Airforce, serving at Mangere Airbase as an adjutant; as an adjutant at Hobsonville Airbase, and then he transferred to the army.

    Posted as NZ Liaison Officer (LO) to General Headquarters, Middle East Force in 1944.

    General Staff Officer class 2 (GSO 2) of HQ Allied Military Liaison, Yugoslavia, 1944.

    Last rank is Major but he was acting Lieutenant Colonel. AWMM
