  • Served with NZ Volunteers, 1903-1914. Promoted Lieutenant with New Zealand Field Artillery (NZFA), 1909. Promoted Captain, 1911.

    Officer Commanding (OC) of 4 Howitzer Battery, NZFA, at Gallipoli. 4 Bty was the first NZ Artillery unit to come ashore.

    Promoted Lieutenant Colonel, 1 May 1916.

    Commanding Officer (CO) of Divisional Ammo Column, January 1917.

    Commander of 3 NZFA Brigade, June 1917.

    Commander of 2 NZFA Brigade, December 1917.

    Served with NZ Brigade and Artillery units between WWI and WW2.

    Promoted Brigadier and appointed Commander of 2 NZEF Overseas Base, 1940-41.

    New Zealand Representative on Ministry of Transport, London, 1941-45.

    Died at sea aboard the Port Phillip, returning to New Zealand in 1945.
