  • Peter Dalton was the son of Joseph Edwin and Margaret Dalton, of Tolaga Bay, New Zealand.

    Westralia then transhipped to "Port Lincoln" at Sydney for Suez. CWGC shows DOD as 20/11/1918. Headstone says 20 October 1918. AWMM

    The Poverty Bay Herald,in a recent issue made the following reference to the late Trooper P Dalton, who was well-known in Tauranga The late Trooper Peter Dalton reported died from sickness in Palestine, was the only son remaining son of Mr J E Dalton of Port Awanui and brother of Mrs Drummond, Ruatorea (writes our correspondent.) He was extremely popular on the coast, and previous to being accepted for the Reinforcements at the age of 20 years had several times been rejected. An extremely fine horseman and rider his services were in keen demand and his death will be felt by a wide circle of friends Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 20 August 2023 - Bay of Plenty Times.
