    Husband of Anna Julia Smith

    Brothers Sydney John Bickerton 12/28 ; 2/2060 and Walter South Bickerton (12/29) served in WW1.

    Roll 89 lists Corporal Bickerton as a Stowaway aboard the S.S. Moeraki, which departed New Zealand 9 August 1918. Troops aboard the ship were 132 members of the 39th Mounted Rifles Brigade Reinforcements. The ship arrived London 19 September 1918.

    Moeraki then transhipped to "Port Sydney" at Sydney for Suez. AWMM
