  • To my Grandfather (Pop) - one of the most dignified, loving and generous gentleman I have ever know. I have great memories of my childhood on your Farm. The story that fascinates me most about your serving in World War 1 is how you carried two of Mary McKillop's medals throughout your time in the Sinai-Palestine campaign. Your diary is the only true insight I have into your hardest days in World War 1.

  • Pop (my grandfather) I have lovely memories of the time I got to spend with you in the school holidays and weekends. I used to sit on your knee and you would tell me stories of the War, especially in the last few years when I wanted to know. You made my time with you interesting as we got up to all sorts of things on the farm and off it. It was a home away from home.
