    Colonel and Commander of Auckland Infantry Brigade in New Zealand, 1914-18.

    Served as Headmaster at King's College, Auckland, 1905-26.

    Honorary Colonel in Auckland Regiment, 1928-38.

    Major's decorations and medals were aboard the Niagara when it was sunk in the Hauraki Gulf on 19 June 1940
