  • Son of Richard and Annie Sophia Cleaver (nee Higgins) of Taihape.

    Before enlistment he was a stock agent with New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency, Taihape

    On 19 May 1941 Cleaver was placed on the seriously ill list after having been diagnosed with sub acute carditis. Later on 27 May 1941 he was transferred to the dangerously ill list.

    He was buried at sea off Fremantle, Australia AWMM
