  • Son of George and Ellen Perry

    On 29 January 1917, Perry transferred from the Mounted Rifle Brigade to 1 Imperial Camel Corps, based in Abbassia, Egypt. He saw active service with the Camel Corps in Egypt and Palestine.

    He embarked from Suez, Egypt for New Zealand aboard the Kaikoura on 6 March 1919, arriving home on 20 April 1919.

    Perry served with the New Zealand Home Guard in the Paeroa/Thames area during World War II from 1 August 1941 until 3 May 1943. During this time he was promoted to Corporal. AWMM
