Another well-known Manutuke boy has made the supreme sacrifice for his country's cause. His name is Rflm. Roy Daulton, son of Mrs. F. J. Daulton, of Manutuke. He was killed in action on the 12th inst. A member of the 15th Reinforcements, he went to France, where he remained up to the time of his death, with the exception of a brief period of a few months in England, consequent on shrapnel wounds received in the shoulder. The record of the Daulton family is a proud one, for there are no less than five sons who joined the colors. Two— Will and Roy— have lost their lives, whilst George, Harry, and Frank are still on service. The family will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their loss. Prior to enlisting the deceased soldier was employed in farming pursuits in the district. Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 15 June 2023 - ROLL OF HONOR.
