  • Fourth child of Heinrich and Dorethea Windleburn of Nelson, New Zealand.

    Embarked for New Zealand on SS Rimutaka, 5 April 1919.

    Married Hazel Eileen Maud Cross in Nelson, New Zealand on 23 June 1920. They had nine children, one of whom was stillborn. Their eldest child, Phillip Edward Windleborn (72279 and 207892), served in WWII and Korea.

    Lawrence worked for Richmond Borough Council as a driver in the 1930s.

    He worked in the abbatoirs near Richmond in the early 1940s. After this he took up farming again.

    Surname is recorded as Windleborn in Nominal Rolls. Listed as Windleburn by Archives New Zealand (2010) AWMM
