  • John Mohr was living in London where he enlisted for service

    He arrived in New Zealand aboard the 'Telegraph" in 1863 and served with Manuku Forest Rifles.

    John Mohr joined the Forest Rangers and served under Von Tempsky (No. 2 Company) 1863-1864. He fought in battles around the Waikato. He was present at the battle at Pukekohe Hill where Percival and Lusk were killed. He is buried at Taupiri cemetery with his wife. AWMM
