  • Thomas Harwood was the son of Nathaniel Harwood (1849-1903) and Elizabeth Ann Harwood (nee Tucker) (1857-1893).

    Enlisted 1914/15 at age 30/31

    Brother of N.H. Harwood (11/979A). Uncle of Clifford Marsden Broderson (28903). More names of relatives serving in the military on Cenotaph Data Entry form for Harry Edward Tucker (10/899)

    Married Margaret Louisa Dorothy (Pearl) Brown (1899-1977) in 1920. They had nine children.

    Was a farrier in Egypt.

    Was kicked in the knee by a horse and sent home on Tahiti hospital ship

    Died in 1939 after an accidental fall from a ladder.

    Death notice: HARWOOD, On December 13th, 1939 (accidently), at Cambridge, Thomas Marsden, dearly beloved husband of Margaret Louisa Dorothy Harwood, Leamington, Cambridge; aged 56 years. The funeral will leave his late residence, Leamington tomorrow (Friday), at 2pm for the Cambridge Cemetery.

    Death Notice: HARWOOD, Spr 11/931A, Tom Harwood – In loving memory of my dear husband, accidently killed at Cambridge, December 13, 1939.

    When last I saw his smiling face, he looked so bright and well, little did I think that last day, would be our last farewell – inserted by his loving wife, Frankton
