  • His father's later address during World War I was 36 O'Neil St, Ponsonby, Auckland.

    He was promoted to Company Quartermaster Sergeant on 23 September 1918.

    Sergeant Alcock was appointed to a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the Territorial Force in World War II (serial number 568260).He was appointed to that rank on 6 May 1942.

    Lieutenant Alcock was transferred from the 4th (Works) Company to the Defence Engineer Service Corps on 28 April 1942; he became an instructor in that unit on 21 August 1942.

    Lieutenant Alcock was posted to the Reserve of Officers list in 1944, and the Retired list in 1956.

    There is a discrepancy as to Sergeant Alcock's date of birth: his World War I records (and Dept of Internal Affairs Notification of Death) list his year of birth as 1895, while his World War II records list it as 1896. AWMM
