  • Always remember my wonderful grandfather on this ANZAC day. He was a wonderful family man, a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and I have cherished memories of him and his loving kindness as a grandparent. Always remembered granddad or 'poppa' as he was referred to. We often stayed with him in their Ponsonby home. He loved apple pie and would feed the seagulls with left over porridge and toast every day. Cards and knuckle bones by the fire were a favourite pastime while listening to the radio. This followed with toast on wire held over the dying fire embers before bed. Sweet memories. He gave so much for our freedom. Lovingly remembered.
