  • Morayshire Roll of Honour Extract from the above publication:- ANDERSON, Forbes Herbert. No. 5/890, Captain, New Zealand. Army Service Corps ; born at Fortrose, 15th April, 1884, residing in Morayshire from 1890 to 1907 ; joined in New Zealand, 9th August, 1914 ; joined as Private in Samoa Expeditionary Force, served one year in Samoa, and three years m France and Egypt with New Zealand Division ; awarded Military. Cross. Son of Eric (deceased) and Jane Anderson, Duff Avenue, Elgin. Occupation, Stock Agent. He had two other brothers who were both Captains in the Military, Eric James Anderson was killed in action on the 13 November 1916 while serving in the Seaforth Highlanders and his other brother Alexander Thornton Anderson was shot but survived the war, he started off in the Seaforth Highlanders but then moved to the R.A.M.C. as a dentist after he was injured.
