  • In researching Thomas Anderson that died in Gisborne 7 Dec 1921 aged 39yrs (with the Regt # 10/2515), I have discovered that this Thomas Anderson is NOT Thomas (Felix) Anderson (b. 1887 to William & Mary ANDERSON of Coromandel), who had the Regt. # 10/2515, who was a Baker in Gisborne at the time of his enlistment. After the war he returns to the Coromandel where he continues to be a Baker. He died in Thames in 1969 aged 82yrs and is buried in the Buffalo cemetery.
His Military Record also declares that he died in 8 Dec 1921 in Gisborne, which is then crossed out with the remark "Not so! living as at 24/5/1967". Then there is another Notification of Death recording that Pte Thomas Felix Anderson # 10/2515 has died 28/10/1969 in Auckland. Informant was Mrs M Ockleston of 230 Godley Road, Titirangi. With this information, I then traced that Thomas Anderson is buried in the Buffalo Cemetery in Thames.

Quite who is the soldier named 'Thomas Anderson' that died in Gisborne in 1921 - I have yet to find his correct identity. Public - Lorraine M - Researcher - 22 February 2016 - Research & Military Record
