  • Bill was one of a few Kiwis who flew on operations during the Gallipoli Campaign. He was attached to the Royal Naval Air Service on 10 October 1915 and worked primarily as a mechanic, but also flew occasionally as an Observer. He re-joined the RNZASC as a driver on 13 March 1917.
