  • My grandfather.
    My lied about his age and enlisted when he was 16. He took his horse with him.
    He also served with the Australians after enlisting in Sydney.
    He was wounded at the Somme.
    After the war, he lived in Fiji for about a year before returning to NZ.
    He was a farmer at Katikati and married Jessie Beauchamp.
