Good memories Grandad of your extra large vegetable garden and numerous fruit trees. The fresh beans and peas straight from the garden were so good. I remember you telling me about the time you were having lunch in the desert and a bullet landed right in front of you and sprayed your lunch with sand. So close. Amazing stories to be told and I just wish I had heard more of them. Will be thinking of you this ANZAC day.

Thanks Grandad for the memories, especially the light hearted stories of the war. Always remember him telling us why he had no hair - "I was hiding behind a hedge & a bullet raced through pulling all my hair out!" All the fabulous fruit trees & vege garden at your place in Papakura. Great memories.

A great memory - Thanks Grandad for all the first covers of stamps that you would send me when I was little. I still have them saved - Dad bundled them up just as he used to bundle everything else of importance.
