    The Auckland Museum Library's manuscripts collection holds an autograph album containing the signatures of seventy (70) First World War New Zealand soldiers who were patients at No. 2 New Zealand General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England, in January, 1916. Edward Bestic's signature is among them. [Ref. MS 2005/19]

    Surname is recorded as Bestie in Nominal Rolls, as Bestic in Archives New Zealand. Bestic family has confirmed his surname (11 March 2015). AWMM
