    Husband of Agnes Muir nee McNab; known as Nancy. He remarried in 1966 Frances Winifred Chalklen nee Jacobs.

    Fred was wounded at Gallipoli and ended up in Epsom military hospital in England. There he met his wife to be, Agnes Macnab who was a nurse at the hospital.

    He farmed on the unsuccessful soldiers' settlement in the Mangaputua valley, Whanganui.

    Birth registered as Bettjemann. Nominal Roll spells name as Fredericke AWMM
