    • Albert Edward "Bert" Blackwell was born in Oct 13 1888; Omahu, Thames. His parents were David John Blackwell (1859-1935) and Harriet Louisa Hill (1868-1932). He was wounded on 21 April 1917 when serving with the Engineers. Bert married Nellie Lavinia Hallett in 1918 in Christchurch, Hampshire co., England; She was born July 19 1894; Fordingbridge, Hampshire co., England and died Jul 25 1985 in New Zealand. They had three children. Donald Bruce born 1920. d.1997 Rex Irwin b.1921 d. 1992 and Brian David b.1924. Bert died at Te Aroha in 1949 aged 61 years. Public - Ian - Other relative - 29 August 2022 - Family history researched by Robert Menzies, husband of Sharon May, grand-daughter of Arthur "Frederick" Blackwell (Albert Edward Blackwell's brother)
