Five sons, brothers served in WW1; two were killed. The eldest William Bourk (5182a) enlisted in England; the youngest, Albert Donald Bourk (6/1223), was killed in action at Gallipoli; Edward Magnus Bourk (4/601) killed in France, Leonard (59309) left with the Thirtieth Reinforcements and James Duncan Bourk (4/601) who also listed in the Second World War.
