This man has already been recommended for work at Messines on 8th June, 1917. During the operations on Passchendalele on the 30th October, 1917, Gunner Dent was one of the F.O.O's party which proceeded to Bellvue Spur under 2/Lieutenant CR McKenzie. He was placed in charge of a halfway transmitting station. The remainder of the F.O.O party were casualties, but Gunner Dent remained at his post until there was no hope of getting any communication through. His work on the battery staff is consistently good, and he can be relied uponin any emergency. AWMM
