    • Charles Dixon was the son of Walter and Helen Dixon, of Dunedin, New Zealand. AWMM
    • Charles Sugden DIXON was born on 28 January 1895 in Dunedin. He was the fifth child and fourth son of Charles Henry Walter DIXON and Helen Augusta Percival DIXON nee JORDAN. He was admitted to the Gisborne Central School on 4 February 1901. The family was then living in Kaiti. His father was then Assistant Land Registrar. Walter had a career in the civil service and rose to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Stamps.   • My father, Raymond Percival Frederick DIXON spoke of his Uncle Charlie from time to time. Ray was aged 7 years when his Uncle died. On a trip in 1995 we stopped at the Waiouru Army Museum and my father asked to see any record of his Uncle's service. He was shown some information and Charlie's page in the Memorial Book.

    We remember Charlie today 100 years after his death.
