    Embarked Alexandria for France, 6 April 1916.
    Wounded in action, 30 June 1916 (shrapnel wound, left hand and back), and admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance; transferred to No 22 General Hospital, Camiers, 1 June 1916; to England, 6 June 1916, and admitted to 1/4 Northern General Hospital, Lincoln, 6 June 1916; transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 20 September 1916.
    Classified unfit by Medical Board and placed on NZ Roll, 24 January 1917.
    Commenced return to NZ from Plymouth on board RMS 'Ionic', 14 February 1917; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of wounds received in action), 8 May 1917.
    Total war service: 1 year 345 days (of which 1 year 184 days was abroad) AWMM
