  • Selwyn Morton Chatfield - I am his daughter from his second marriage. He was wounded in the back of the leg at Gallipoli and shipped back to NZ. In WWII he was an MP based in Auckland. In 2015 I traveled to Gallipoli for the 100th centenary. A very moving experience. Selwyn died April 8th 1970 in Henderson, Auckland NZ. He suffered for years with his leg wound and lung problems from mustard gas. I have his war medals and RSA pin. I have for the past nine years organised an ANZAC service at our local Club where I am secretary. I do this as a tribute to Dad and to his brother Stanley who fought at Gallipoli and were fortunate enough to return home.
