  • Reginald was my fathers' cousin. Lawrence Earnest Gibbs (my dad) was born 1 month before Reginald was killed. I believe Reginalds mother, in later life, lived a time with her sister my grandmother. During this time some of Reginalds effects were left with my grandmother and passed onto my father. On his death those effects where passed to me. Reginald died on 18 September 1916 and I was born 41 years later on 18 September. My research on Reginald has left me with a picture of a hard working, bright young man with a worth while future as a lawyer. Reginald Henry Dodsons' sacrifice for his country is not forgotten in our family and his picture is amongst our family photos. While he lays a long way from home, he is with us in our hearts.
