  • The following text is taken from a diary that was almost certainly written by Charles Henry Dorsett. Dated the 16th February 1915 - "I suppose this ends our stay in Port Taufiq. It’s been very interesting. In a way we are sorry to leave it. But by no man’s foolishness we have to suffer. But never mind we will plod on never wearying in the fight for that which is right. If anyone reads these papers after I am gone, always remember that I have tried to do my duty but I am willing to die by what is right. Tell mother not to worry, I’ll be there to welcome her. Tell father not to worry over me. I done my duty".
