  • Charles Armitage O'Neill Cowan was my great-grandfather. He was seriously wounded at Gallipoli on April 25 1915, but survived. He had six children — Molly (Mary), Patrick, Jean, Viv, Douglas and Keith. Molly was my grandmother. Her only child, Christopher, is my father. Christopher's own father, Leslie James Kirk, was killed in the Solomons in WWII, so we remember them both on Anzac Day.
