  • Remembering JP, as he was known. Visited his grave in Steenwerck, Belgium, and now visiting his home city.

Married my great auntie after meeting her in Wigan, UK; Mary Elizabeth, known as Polly. While he was training in Wigan, they fell in love and married after only a few weeks. 6 weeks later he died; we think it was at The Battle of Messines.

He is rememered every year on Armistice Day, and we have taken the UK family to visit his grave twice.
