  • The note from Adam referring to "Charles Dobson Lute" is about another person - not Charles James Hamilton Dobson (1886-1930)

  • The signature of Charles Dobson Lute appears in a WW1 Memorial Album compiled for the casualties of Chorley, Lancashire, UK. The signature is dated by Lute for 1922. The compiler, Susannah Knight, made a point of seeking the signatures of chaplains, medical personnel, military commanders and political leaders to underwrite the town's losses and she seems to have held Charles Dobson Lute in some regard. his inscription reads simply: "Charles Dobson Lute S.C.F. News Zealand Division, British Chaplain Surgeon, 1922" Volume I, page 37 (Reverse), Chorley Memorial Album, held in Astley Hall, Chorley, United Kingdom.
