    Disembarked Alexandria from Gallipoli, 25 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Proceeded to Canal Zone, 23 January 1916.
    Transferred to Pioneer Bn, 15 March 1916.
    Embarked Port Said to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 9 April 1916.
    Accidentally injured, 16 August 1917 (circular saw; left hand thumb amputated), and admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance; transferred to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 16 August 1917; to Ambulance Train No 28, 19 August 1917, and admitted to No 8 Red Cross Hospital, Le Tourquet. Transferred to England, 23 August 1917, and admitted to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames. Transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 12 October 1917; discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 28 November 1917, and granted leave until 2 December 1917.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board HT 'Tahiti', 1 January 1918; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of injuries sustained on Active Service), 17 April 1918.
