    Wounded in action, Canal Zone, 9 January 1917 (gun shot wound, right shoulder); admitted to 24th Stationary Hospital, Kantara, 11 January 1917; transferred to 27th General Hospital, Abbassia, 14 January 1917; to Aotea Convalescent Home, Heliopolis, 23 January 1917; discharged to Base, Moascar, 7 February 1917.
    Transferred to Wellington Mounted Rifles Brigade, 12 February 1917.
