Dennis Feeney left New Zealand as an Infantryman and later transferred to the New Zealand Artillery March 1915. He often related how he was able to sleep standing up during battle inspite of the noise of guns around him.

He also made mention of the flies in Egypt being so thick that when eating bread and jam one had to constantly keep waving the food as it was being eaten.

Attested as Denis, BDM records name variously as Denis and Dennis Feeney AWMM
