  • He was the son of Thomas & Charlotte GAGER (nee Mead). His father was born in Earlscone, Essex, England and came to New Zealand on the ‘Duke of Edinburgh’ in 1874. They had nine children - four sons and five daughters.

    GAGER, Sealey Claydon (veteran First World War). On May 16, 1972, at Kamo, dearly loved husband of Ellen Jane (Nellie) and loved father of Royce (Mrs C Weaver, Waikukurau), Selwyn (Whangarei), and Valmae (Mrs H. Rountree, Waipu); aged 82 years. At rest. A service will be held at the chapel of Morris & Morris, corner Bank & Grey Sts, Whangarei, at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday), funeral then leaving for Maunu Servicemen’s Lawn Cemetery.
