  • My granddad, you never spoke about the things you endured during the war. You lost a brother in the battles. I have your victory medal in safe keeping and think about you often. You were such a caring, loving Granddad. The smell of your Tasman dark tobacco from our pipe and the special pottles of ice cream and top 5 chocolate biscuits will never be forgotten when I think about you . Also sugar on the jelly to make it crunch. ANZAC day is just one special time that I think of you . Rest is Peace, a special hero.
