    Schooled at Whangapiro Public school

    Apprenticed as a blacksmith and experienced as a farrier and coachbuilder.

    he was first reported missing and then his family were notified he was being invalided home. They very sadly received his cheerful letter, written from hospital in Heliopolis after his death.

    His memorial tablet hung in the Warkworth RSA. AWMM
