  • Robert Gibson, known as Bobby to friends and family, survived the Gallipoli conflict and subsequently spent time in Egypt and Palestine. He wrote diaries of his experiences, however a number of the diaries have been lost after he returned to NZ. His family would welcome any information regarding the missing diaries. https://www.odt.co.nz/regions/central-otago/1916-missing-fascinating-diaries

  • We are searching for the remaining diaries from Pvt RJ Gibson 3/1026 that he sent back from WWI while on duty with the NZEF. The diaries are 10cm wide by 16cm tall , and have cardboard covers with his name and rank on the inside cover. If you have any information or know the whereabouts of any of the diaries I would be very grateful for further information. Thank you very much. Nadine Hillock ( nee gibson) grand-daughter of Private Robert J Gibson. .
